ElevenLabs pricing: every tier, what a credit buys, and where the jumps hurt
Free to $990/month across six published tiers. The prices are the easy part — the thing that decides your bill is credits, and the gap between Creator and Pro is nine times the price for five times the credits.
ElevenLabs publishes six paid tiers plus a free one. Here they are as listed, in US dollars.
The tiers
| Plan | Per month | Credits/month | The reason to move up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 10,000 | Trying it. 3 Studio projects |
| Starter | $6 | 30,000 | Commercial licence, instant voice cloning, dubbing |
| Creator | $11 | 121,000 | Professional voice cloning |
| Pro | $99 | 600,000 | 44.1kHz PCM via API, 192kbps audio |
| Scale | $299 | 1,800,000 | 3 workspace seats, team collaboration |
| Business | $990 | 6,000,000 | 10 seats, low-latency TTS from 5c/minute |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | SSO, HIPAA BAAs, DPA/SLA, priority support |
Creator is listed at $11/month with a first month at $22 marked 50% off — read that carefully, because it means the advertised discount is against a higher number than the ongoing price.
Credits are the real pricing
Every tier is really a credit allowance. The dollar figure is secondary: run out of credits and the plan stops doing what you bought it for, regardless of which tier you are on.
Look at the curve rather than the prices:
- Starter to Creator: 1.8x the price, 4x the credits. The best value step in the whole table.
- Creator to Pro: 9x the price, 5x the credits. The worst. You are paying for audio quality and API access, not volume.
- Pro to Scale: 3x the price, 3x the credits. Roughly linear — you are buying seats.
If you are on Creator and hitting the ceiling, check whether you need Pro's 44.1kHz PCM output before paying nine times as much. If you only need more credits, that jump is poor value and worth a hard look at your usage first.
The licensing cliff at $6
The free tier has no commercial licence. Starter, at $6, is where commercial use begins — including music commercial use. If you are publishing anything you earn from, the free tier is not an option at any volume, and that $6 is not really optional.
Which tier fits
Hobby or evaluation: Free, until credits bite.
Publishing anything commercially: Starter, minimum, for the licence alone.
Cloning a specific voice properly: Creator — professional voice cloning starts here.
Shipping a product on the API: Pro, for the audio quality and PCM output, not the credits.
A team: Scale at three seats, Business at ten.
